Here is my first run at making a sheath. This vegetable tanned cowhide was an interesting adventure. Of course when you make knives, you have to have a home for them when you carry them. I am pretty satisfied with this for a first sheath so I thought I would post it and see what the rest of you think. your feedback is welcome.
Bear Grylls would give his kidney out in the bush for this survival knife. This full tang, 1/8″ thick, 1050 Carbon steel blade measures 4″ with an overall length of almost 8.5″. This satin finish blade with high visibility orange Linen resin (micarta style) two piece handle features two stainless steel 1/4″OD tubes and a 1/4″ lanyard hole. If you drop this knife out in the bush, even in low light you are likely to find it easy with the bright orange handle.
